Hydrogen energy source is a perfect clean energy. And hydrogen production by water electrolysis is one of the essential methods for hydrogen production, since the hydrogen produced by water electrolysis is characterized by high purity, and easy adjustment in production together with a pollution-free production process. At present, producing hydrogen with wind, solar, and nuclear power generations is the cleanest approach for energy generation.

With the existence of overpotential of hydrogen evolution, cell pressure is increased in the water electrolysis process, which might also result in consuming large amounts of electric energy in the production process. In response to this, we offer a nickel-based porous alloy electrode. Specifically, the true surface area of the electrode is enhanced through designing appropriate pore structure and increasing the roughness on the electrode surface, so that the catalytic activity of the electrode can be accelerated thanks to the increase in catalyst active centers. Furthermore, an electrocatalytic synergistic effect can be also generated through alloying various elements on the surface of the electrode. Based on this, an alloy electrode with excellent catalytic hydrogen evolution activity can be obtained.
Favorable binding force, and stabilized quality.
A reduction in energy consumption of about 20%
Cell pressure is decreased to the range between 1.5 V and 2.2 V from the range between 2.0 V and 2.2 V,
and it can reach up to 1.7 V when the current density is 4000 A/ m2.
